Garnering awards like Best Experimental Film at the Ottawa Animation Festival\, it established Seidel as a visionary in experimental digital cinema. Now\, the Berlin-based filmmaker is celebrating 20 years of creating digital ‘moving images’ with a retrospective screening. Spanning films\, video installations\, large-scale projections and AI-driven works\, his abstract creations explore the evolving language of 21st century abstraction and it’s emotional impact in a hyper-structured world.robertseidel.cominstagram.com/studiorobertseidel 21.30 UHR / 9.30 PM / Markus POPP x STEFAN KRAUSOVAL x MXZEHN X ROBERT SEIDEL : AN AUDIOVISUAL EXPERIENCEThe second half of the evening invites audiences deeper into Robert Seidel’s visual world with a live performance by Markus Popp\, known as OVAL\, and Stefan Kraus\, aka MXZEHN. SUMMARY:TouchDesigner Roundtable HALLE
DESCRIPTION:Organised by The NODE Institute\, the TouchDesigner Roundtable serves as a dynamic gathering for creatives and developers exploring the visual development platform TouchDesigner. It also welcomes anyone intrigued by the world of interactive media art and the innovative minds shaping it. In this edition\, we broaden our horizons with a visit to Kunsthochschule Burg Giebichenstein in Halle\, a city located about two hours southwest of Berlin. For over a century\, the Burg has been a cornerstone of design education and remains one of Germany’s most renowned design universities. The program features an insight into how TouchDesigner has been integrated into the Design Fundamentals curriculum focusing on process and interaction by Prof. Florian Kühnle. The Roundtable will be accompanied by a showcase of recent student works. We also look forward to contributions from Victoria Mikhaylova\, a Master’s student at Bauhaus University Weimar\, and Norman Wassmuth\, a Berlin-based computational designer\, who will share insights from their practices. To secure your spot\, please R.S.V.P – or get a supporter ticket!(At the end of this page) We will stream the talks on our Youtube channel:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0U9Y_yL_LME \n\n19:00 UHR / 7:00 PM / DOORS OPENJoin us early for some good networking and lovely encounters. 20:00 UHR / 8:00 PM / FLORIAN KÜHNLEFlorian Kühnle teaches as professor for Design Fundamentals/Process and Interaction at the Kunsthochschule Burg Giebichenstein. He studied Sound Engineering at the Konrad Wolf Film University in Potsdam and Art and Media at the Berlin University of the Arts. His work focuses on creating spatial installations for public\, event or theatre spaces that combine analog-physical properties and (digital) media such as light\, sound\, video\, and code.In his teaching\, Florian addresses the changing conditions under which design practice takes place today. As designers widely use digital and non-linear tools\, design objects can be remodified\, revisited\, or reversed at any time. In addition\, semi-automated and artificially intelligent processes are increasingly taking over design tasks. To question and look into these processes as well as into critical aspects of technology usage\, already during design fundametal classes\, is a central interest of his.burg-halle.de/design/gestalterische-und-kuenstlerische-grundlagen/lehrgebiete/4d-prozess-interaktion-und-medienburg-halle.de/hochschule/information/personen/p/florian-kuehnleinstagram.com/florian.kuehnle 21:00 UHR / 9:00 PM / Victoria MikhaylovaVictoria Mikhaylova is a multidisciplinary artist\, VJ\, and educator based in Weimar. Her passion for real-time visuals began with Hydra\, a live-coding tool she uses for teaching and performances. Seeking deeper interaction with immersive environments\, she adopted TouchDesigner as her primary platform. For her master’s thesis\, Victoria is creating a fulldome real-time audio-visual performance that combines 360-degree imagery\, soundscapes\, and interactive storytelling. The project explores trauma and emotional release\, offering audiences a space for reflection and connection.instagram.com/santabro 22:00 UHR / 10:00 PM / NORMAN WASSMUTHNorman Wassmuth is a Berlin-based creative and art director with a background in interaction design. His work bridges the realms of art and design\, crafting innovative media installations and immersive spaces. Leveraging technology as both a tool for expression and a medium for engaging with complex ideas\, he has collaborated with renowned figures such as Joachim Sauter at ART+COM. Previously\, he contributed to projects for the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation and partnered with Stefan Gandl of Neubau. As a co-founder of the collective Glow\, his creations have been showcased at the National Gallery in Prague and Lehrter Siebzehn Gallery in Berlin.normanwassmuth.de 22:30 UHR / 10:30 PM / SozialisingWe stay for some cold drinks and lovely conversations at the Burgs student bar.
